Dr. Shah grew up in a multigenerational extended family in Gujarat, India. He attended M.P.Shah Medical College in Jamnagar, India which included 1 year rotating internship at various medical institutes in Gujarat. Dr. Shah taught medical students and worked as hospitalist before migrating to America. After doing stroke research at UNC Chapel Hill, he did his Internal Medicine internship, Neurology residency and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at Medical College of Georgia, Augusta GA. He is board certified by ABPN in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology.
He loves sharing his infectious enthusiasm about neuroscience with students. He is actively involved with Alamance Caswell Medical Society. He works as a team with neuro hospitalist physicians and others on neurology service at Alamance Regional Medical Center (ARMC). He demonstrates compassionate way of interacting with patients to Elon PA School students. He is always looking for non pill options for neurological ailments such as Scrambler Therapy. You may find him meditating with Headspace during lunch hour. He enjoys travelling with his beautiful wife and energetic kids. Sharing folk tales and stories of various cultures around the world with his kids, is his favorite way of cooling down at the end of the day.
I am a physician assistant specializing in treating neurological conditions at Kernodle Clinic in Burlington, North Carolina. I earned a Master of Health Sciences degree from the Duke University Physician Assistant Program. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from George Washington University. I also graduated with honors from the Special Forces Qualification Course at Fort Bragg, NC, and served as a U.S. Army Special Forces Medical Sergeant supporting military personnel on combat deployments. I led a COVID unit at the Ryan Larkin Field Hospital in New York during the pandemic and worked as a paramedic in Colorado.
Rhonda Mazejka is a Registered Nurse at Kernodle Clinic (A Duke Medicine Practice). She brings twenty-plus years of experience to her role as a department supervisor and a nurse manager for the Gastroenterology, Neurology, and Surgery Departments.
In addition to the oversight for these departments, Rhonda serves in an administrative role providing professional development for more than 400 clinical staff and administrative staff. Rhonda is a recipient of several awards and honors including the Strength, Hope, and Caring Award, and the Great 100 Nursing Scholarship Award. Rhonda received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Mount Olive University. Rhonda graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing Education in May of 2020 from the University of Wilmington.

Michelle grew up in Burlington, NC. After graduation she took courses at the local community college to further her education. She has been with Kernodle Clinic for long time. She has been an Electrodiagnostic Technologist since 2009 and became EEG technician since 2015. She is a dedicated employee, wife and mother of 3.
Melissa grew up in Caswell County where she attended Bartlett Yancey High School. After graduation she proudly served 4 years in the United States Navy. She then attended Alamance Community College and graduated with an Associates Degrees in Medical Assisting. She is a Certified Medical Assistant and has been with Kernodle Clinic for many years. She enjoys reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Rebecca is a CMA. She is a great animal lover.
Paula is originally from Dallas, TX and moved to Burlington in 1992. She was a stay at home mom for 12 years then went to real estate school and received her Real Estate Broker's License. She has been with Neurology department at Kernodle Clinic since 2010. Paula is married with 2 daughters. Her outside interests are spending time with her friends and family, snow skiing, water skiing and traveling.
As a devoted mother of two boys and a proud mimi of one grandson, I bring a personal touch to my role as a Prior Authorization Coordinator in neurology. With a passion for project work, whether at home or for community organizations, I excel at streamlining approval processes while ensuring top-notch patient care. My attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities set me apart.
David works as a scribe. He has varied professional experience including being manager at at store, front desk in our department. He is always ready for new challenge and learning new skills.
Sue is the first person you will see when you come to our practice. She is experienced in registration. She enjoys spending time with her husband and grand kids.
